Animas City Theater to host ‘Albatross’ film

A partnership of local businesses and community leaders will present “Albatross,” a film by Chris Jordan, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Animas City Theatre, 128 E. College Drive.

The film will take the viewer into the heart of the vast Pacific to see the reaches of plastic pollution and its effects on wildlife. Stepping outside the stylistic templates of traditional environmental or documentary films, “Albatross” takes viewers on a lyrical guided tour.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., follow by a discussion 6:30 p.m. The film will be offered as a free public artwork, but a suggested donation of $10 at the door and will be contributed directly to the film.

Because of graphic imagery, this film is not recommended for children under 13.
